Currently pursuing my doctoral research (Ph.D.) on Medical
Anthropology at Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai.
Completed a professional degree of Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and
Surgery (B.S.M.S) in the year 1998, Government Siddha Medical College,
Palayamkottai.
Personal Credentials :
Received 'Sigaram 15' - Faces of Future award for Literature from
'India Today', a Tamil weekly.
Awarded Travel grant for the year 2005 by Sahitya Academy to meet
literary wizards of the country.
Currently receiving Malcolm & Elizabeth Adisesiah Fellowship for my
doctoral research at MIDS, Chennai.

Editor of 'Panikkudam', a Tamil literary quarterly for women writing.
The magazine 'Panikkudam' embodies a desire to create niche in the
world of Tamil Literature and Poetry for feminine language. Panikkudam
seeks to establish women's viewpoints on varied aspects such as
family, politics, business etc. discovery of feminine language,
introducing modern play, novels, short stories and poetry created by
women writers and providing a platform for discussing such an ideology
are important among the missions of this magazine. Interviews of women
writers, introduction to modern poetry and short stories, translations
of such works into Tamil from World languages, discussions of the
creative process and sangam literature are some of the elements that
make up this magazine. Panikkudam has the distinction of being the
first Tamil feminist magazine.
'Eazha Tamil Penn Kavithaigal' (Forthcoming), an anthology of
SriLankan Tamil women poems has been accepted for publication by
Panikkudam Pathippagam.
Editor of 'Kannadi' a Tamil journal for Women Cinema.
And have done Photo documentation extensively on the following themes :
Tsunami Impacts in Tamilnadu for Action Aid-International, an
international NGO, in the year 2005.
Post - Independence Dalit Atrocities in Tamilnadu for Dalit
Murasu in the year 2002.
